I saw a leadbeaters possum in a mountain ash tree last night 25 Sept 11 on the foster boolara road near foster end. It was sitting up on back legs with front feet folded down. Please email to confirm, Chicka
Hi Chicka,
It is really difficult to confirm a sighting from a written description. We would really need to see photos or video footage to be able to confirm as there are other possums or gliders which can be mistaken for Leadbeater’s Possums. Historically the Leadbeater’s Possum may have been found this far east in Victoria, but they are currently not known to be in this area. Great to see you out enjoying the forest and our nocturnal wildlife.
