Education Program

Friends of Leadbeater’ s Possum can visit your Primary School for a short presentation on the possum, their habitat needs and conservation issues. Our Education Officer, Pam Miskin, is a very experienced teacher with many years of experience teaching about threatend species at Healesville Sanctuary and now at the Natural Resources Conservation League in Warburton.
In return for Pam’s visit we ask schools to have already done some fundraising to be able to adopt a nest box ($150 per box). Pam can then present you with a certificate (or two??) on the day – which the children love. Some schools have been very innovative in their fundraising – one even had a ‘dress up as your favourite threatened species day’
